 If you're looking to start affiliate marketing and you are a complete beginner, first of all I recommend you do check out my introduction to affiliate marketing .

 

In order to get you started with affiliate marketing, we'll be doing a few things, beginning with signing up for an affiliate network. The second step is to look for a specific product that you can sell on. Our second topic will be finding anything on the internet that you can profit from. This is where you find products you can sell or link to and earn commissions from. The third step we'll take is to actually list it for sale as soon as possible.

If you are a serious action taker I recommend going through all these steps and actually you can start earning your first commissions right now if you just take these steps.

 Steps 1

So here I am and if we Google just affiliate networks for example, we'll find a tonne of results. If we just look up the top 10 affiliate networks that aren't Amazon, we'll see a tonne of affiliate networks. These affiliate networks include Clickbank, JVZoo, Giddy Up, Share Sale, or Van Gate. How do you choose what to join? To start, there are two excellent affiliate networks to join: Amazon and Clickbank, which is also one of my favourites. If you already shop on Amazon, you already know how to join their affiliate programme. However, since we're interested in how to become an affiliate, we'll start there.

Basically, you'll just want to join, and one of the things it will ask you for is that you put in a website. Do you have a Facebook profile? If not, you can easily create one for free; if you already do, that's your website; it's also very easy.

You won't become a billionaire by recommending books to people until you're earning more than 10% of the price of the books you're recommending. As an example, let's assume I sell this book called Anthem, which is roughly $20. If I make 10% of that, I'll make $2.

The affiliate network that I really like is called Clickbank, and you can see it right here. There are many affiliate networks out there, but Clickbank is the most reputable and the oldest one; it has been operating for 21 years and is based in Boise, Idaho. This is the network where I earned my first commissions, as well as where a lot of other people have earned their first commissions.

Now let's go back to Amazon.com. Let's say I want to start off by promoting this book nfm, which is one I'm currently reading. It's a really good book, and we're going to search this on Amazon and look it up so we'll see okay.

When you are approved for an affiliate network, you will see this small bar that says Amazon Associates site Stripe right here. This is where I will get my affiliate link. I will click get link text there, and you will see it says text. It is nine dollars, okay nine dollars right here, so I'm going to click on the book. 

now here is my affiliate link that I will use to sell this book; by having people click on this link and purchase the book, I will be paid; does that make sense?

Steps 4

They purchase the book and I profit, so let's take a look at the full link here. I won't go into detail about what the full link entails, but it basically tells Amazon that someone clicked on my link rather than searching for the book elsewhere, and that link is in this tag. This information tells Amazon that the person clicked on my link rather than searching for it elsewhere. Now that I have my link, I've joined an affiliate network, chosen a product, and we're moving on to blogging about how we can actually, you know, getting some people to visit my website, we're just going to grab the short link and copy it.

Okay, now that you know how to encourage people to click on your link, you can use them.
